Hi Sergio,
For performance reasons, you can use several iidbms servers on 1
single shared cache.
However, if you have separate target user groups, each group located
at another site, and using their own database, you could use several
iidbms's with their own separate dedicate cache configuration for each
target group or database. Why ? The answer is spreading risks. If you
have 1 shared cache and for some reason a session is experiencing a
problem, example shared memory problems, then all iidbms processes can
crash. If you have multiple iidbm's with their own separate cache,
only the iidbms involved will crash, while the other are not effected
and remain active.
Either way, you will have to specifically configure the dbms to the
appropriate situation.
