Gidday Franky,
See my last posting on Citrix etc. We have found Citrix to be the
fastest way to deploy up an existing OpenROAD application to remote
internet users. Performance is very good even on dialup line.
Have you checked where the performance problems are? You may have to
bump up your internet connection or it may be at the server end. Make
sure your citrix server is up to the task, OpenROAD can be pretty heavy
on CPU. Have an certified consultant check out the server config.
I do not recommend running Ingres DB and OpenROAD on the same box.
Ingres should be on a dedicated server.
Paul

Subject: [Info-ingres] Ingres client over the Internet
Hi dudes,
We have some users running Openroad applications on their PC through a
CITRIX session over the Internet.
Example : Ingres dbms & citrix server in the US, client located in
Malaysia .
Not obvious. Correct. But that is the reality. Gues what : the user
complains about the response times ( key stroke delays .. etc .. ).
What are nowadays better solutions for accomplishing this ? Any ideas ?
An expensive dedicated Internet line is too costly for a very small
firm.
Regards,
Franky
