Has anyone used an iSCSI connection on AIX 5.x to perform "archive to
disk"?
Not I.
And if so, as far as I know, doing this still has to be in 2gb files
due to limitations on disk. If that is the case, I would have 160 2gb
files since our database is approx 320gb. Restore would be a
nightmare! Anybody currently doing this?
AFAIK 9.40 does not have the 2GB file size limitation. You should be
able to set TAPESIZE to 400000000 and be good to go.
We are currently running Informix 9.4 (yeah, yeah, we're working on
upgrading to IDS10 or maybe even IDS11, but it is what it is now) on a
P550 running AIX 5.2.
Thanks in advance,
