it dumps the specified data from the table into a text file. It is a
utility that was created by Informix and is the dump utility already
on the machines I am trying to get data from.
You can get my ul.ec utility in the package utils2_ak from the
IIUG Software Repository. Full source so you can expand/modify it if
needed, but it can export and import binary table dumps (actually the
results of a query).
Thanks for the note on the utility. The systems I am trying to obtain
data from are running SCO Unix (I know, old and out of date) without
the SCO C compiler. Would I get lucky enough to find SCO binaries for
your utility? I have noticed that it is very hard to find utility
binaries for SCO any more. I don't have the option of changing
operating systems or I would.
