Correction:
Adding to Martin's comment, My opinion is a Database restore
of IDS irrespective of version should
not work if your Source Database is in HP UX and you are
restoring in Sun Solaris as IDS software is
again OS specific.

Actually restoring a backup from the same IDS version on different OS
platforms is unsupported.
Depending on byte order and page size it still may work.
! When your database(s) use OS locales you might run into troubles
after the restore, when locales on the OS are different.
The restore may work but the data may still be inaccessible.
However, I know of customers who did successfully restore RELIANT
backups to
SOLARIS instances.
Nevertheless, I don't recommend it (unless you are desperate). Rather
follow a supporetd migration path for a change of the OS.
Keep in mind that IBM Informix Support will not be able to help you on
any troubles in such a case.
