Has anyone successfully used Apple's ODBC Administrator 1.1.0 (the one
in Leopard) to set up a DSN to access FM through SQL? The docs say
that the Sequelink driver is only tested with 1.0.1 (OS X 10.4), so I
think it might be a problem that just hasn't been fixed even in
9.0v3 . When I follow the instructions to install the SequeLink
driver, it seems like the driver doesn't load properly, as I can't
edit the keys and values as described in FileMaker's ODBC Guide when
defining the DSN. Oh...the this on an older G4 PPC laptop. If anyone
feels like trying, it's one of those things that should work easily.
Oh, also, I did get it to work on the Windows version of FM 9
properly, but when I tested it on yet another PPC it did not work. Has
anyone set this up successfully?
Thanks,
Sean
I have also been unsuccessful in my attempts to setup a DSN to an ODBC
data source (MySQL) using the MAC OSX ODBC Administrator.
I finally purchased a third party driver from Actual Technologies that
worked well.(~$30.00). "http://www.actualtechnologies.com/
product_opensourcedatabases.php"(I have no interest in this company).
Since I will be installing a Filemaker Pro solution on a number of
Macs that will need to access an ODBC data source, I would like to
know if anyone has found a free solution to this problem?
Thanks,
Tim
