Why not??
I have to agree. Bento is a database made by FileMaker Inc., so
technically it does fit within this newsgroup's topic. Despite what
some blurbs about this newsgroup might say, the topic is not
"comp.databases.filemakerpro" which would restrict it to a particular
product.
The term 'FileMaker' has two meanings
1. a company
2. a database
Its not clear to me what the word FileMaker in comp.databases.filemaker
stands for, but I suspect it is no 2 because it is comp.DATABASES.filemaker.
When this assumption is correct, Bento would not be subject of this NG.
Bento is also a "DATABASE". It's precisely because the title is vague /
confusing and that Bento is made by FileMaker Inc that means such
questions can belong here as well. People asking about Access or FoxPro
or something would be "wrong".
As I said, if it was comp.databases.filemakerPRO, then maybe you would
have a point.
Plus, considering the number of Bento topics probably comes to a total
of under five (including the 'news' release posts), then it's pretty
pointless people complaining about them. :o\
