Hide / Remove "Mode Tab"

FileMaker 9 Is there a way to hide or remove the "Mode Tab"
frame from the display?
To maintain visual consistency from migrating from a MS Access
database product, I would like to use on screen
buttons for navigation rather than the "Mode Tab".
