Hi
I have tried your suggestion Harry. I saved a Microsoft Word document
as a text file. Them when I opened it and asked it to look for '# '
and replace with '^p' it didn't recognize the '^p' at all and
therefore did not insert carriage returns as I expected it to.
I would like to do it that way if at all possible because it doesn't
take long to replace one value with another in notepad.
Did it actually insert "^p" instead of the Return??
It's possible the Return tag is different in your version. In my Mac
version of Microsoft Word the Find / Replace window has a "More" button
which displays some extra items at the bottom, one of which is a
"Special Characters" pop-up menu.
The other way is to simply copy a Return from the document and Paste it
into the Replace window. If you have a document which has the text:
Line1
Line2
Line3
you can select from just after the "Line1" down to just before the
"Line2" and then a copy command should copy just the Return (assuming
there's no spaces or tabs on the end of the "Line1" of course).
