I don't think this is a problem cause by passwords (assuming the
password lets you browse records of course). It's caused by hiding and
locking the side Status toolbar because FileMaker assumes you want to
use you're own navigation system. If you unlock the side Status toolbar
(you can leave it hidden) the keyboard shortcuts will probably work
again.

As a work-around you could create two scripts one with the Go To Record
[Previous] command and the other with the Go To Record [Next] command.
You can make these use a keyboard shortcut, although not with the
cursor keys. You can also add on-screen buttons with the same
commandsfor mouse-users to click on.

Thank you Helpful Harry but I'm afraid the unlocking of the status
toolbar has no effect on the results. It won't even work with the
toolbar showing so I'm afraid it's related to the password. If nobody
else has a solution, could you tell me how you would go about making
the next & previous steps into keyboard shortcuts ...
