I have Filemaker 8.5 pro. I have printed form that I load into my printer
and I would like to be able to use the image in FM to properly place the
fields so when they print everything will line up. If possible I would
like to have the printed form as the background and fill in the necessary
fields. Then when I print the information I don't want the background to
print.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Carl
Put a PDF of the form in a container field (Insert Picture).
Put that field on a layout (use the "Crop" setting to get it exact full size). Size the layout tight to the form field vertically. Under Format/Set Sliding/Printing, set the container to "Do not print selected objects.
Put your data fields in position in front of the container image.
Fiddle with alignment as necessary.
Print it.
