Adding databases to running FMP Server 7

Hello!

We're running a copy of FileMaker Pro Server 7 on a dedicated machine,
and we all access it via the network here. My question is that of a
newbie to administering FMP, so forgive my lame question.

Can I add a database to the server while it is running? IN other words,
can I put a db that's already in FMP7 format, set up to share, into the
db server folder while the server is running, or do I need to stop the
server, add teh file, and restart the server? I have been told that
stopping the server has been the way to go in the past, but that
version 7 has new features that don't need server stoppage as much.
