Philippe is correct : the value list has to be defined 'only related
values'.
In FMP6 Menu Edit / Choose value list / yr list then Edit / Use values from
field / Specify / 'only related values' and there you choose your
relationship / the field you want to show from the related file.

I don't exactly remember FMP6, but seems that the link has to be from
the contact file::company field to the company field in your actual
file.
