I found FINDMARK.fp3 an old trick of which the description is at : http://www.filemakermagazine.com/print.php?sid=257 I don't remember where to find it. But if you give me privately a valid address I can send it to you. PS : I don't know if it will help... Remi-Noel
this is a cool solution, I've used it in my solution to highlight phrases in various fields at a click of a button.
however, it's a scripted solution -- the script loops through every record.
I need a non-scripted solution, for both performance and logistical reasons.
One thing that came to mind that I haven't understood before is using an X relationship... I really don't know any thing about X relationships, but the many to many approach would seem to support my goal.
(i.e. for every Subjects record, relate to every other Books record, and do a Count() that way.)
Am I on a good track with this thinking, or have I misunderstood X relationships?
thanks for all your help so far! g.
