You need to run windows server 2000 or 2003 to be able to load and run FM Server. Get that going first. NHowdy -
A client is having difficulty understanding how to set up FM Server 7 on his Windows network. Up till now, they've been using FMP 5 in multi-user mode, but since I've update their database for FMP 7, they'd like to follow my recommendation and get with Server.
My main contact there is a bright guy who knows his tech stuff, but for some reason is having difficulty with the documentation. For my own part, I've always left the server end to the IT guys and don't know much about it, not to mention I'm primarily Mac oriented.
Anyone interested in fielding a phone call for a five or ten-minute conversation with him? I think the mental block is more conceptual than technical. If you're able to help, feel free to shoot me an email off-list at my gmail account, adam.sugerman at the usual domain.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.
Best,
