Using notes/memo field in a Crystal Report

I've been using Crystal Reports 10 against a Pervasive 2000 database,
using the native btrieve connection. So far, I've had very few problems
with the exception of any report which includes data stored in a
note/memo data type. When I include any field of this type, I get
"Failed to Open A Rowset" followed by "Unknown Query Engine Error." If
I leave this field out and only use the other fields fro mthe table,
it works fine.

I know that the data isn't encrypted or anything like that because, if
I use BTSearch32, I'm able to view the data stored in the field.

Does anyone know what I can do to get data from these fields into my
report? I can't upgrade the database to a newer version of Pervasive;
the application that we use isn't the most flexible of things and we'd
rather not lose what support we have through the vendor for it.

Thanks
-Neil
