Licencing wge v. 8 and 9 issues - question

Hello to all Pervasive users,
I have PV8 WGE licence for 5 connections. All databases are located on
one machine. AFAIK, Pervasive do not sell addtional single licences
(increasing the total number) for its 5 connections WGE package.
Now, to workarround it I want to buy 3 additional licences of
Pervasive 9 WGE, install the engine on a new machine and split
databases between these two "semi-servers" so that more users could
have access to databases. In other words, I want to have 2
workstations acting like server machines; one with engine ver. 8 and
one database, the other one with ver. 9. and the rest of databases.
Is this kind of configuration going to work? Thank you in advance for
any hints.
Chris
