Very mature, very advanced, very good performance, tons of
functionality.
ECLiPSe has ability to use commercial (and not only) MIP solvers. This
ability makes it a great tool for crafting hybrid models.

Free. There is a textbook available.
Textbook is ok, but first I would suggest reading the manuals. They
are really great.

Problem: THIS IS PROLOG.
This is not that big problem as ECLiPSe provides some syntactic sugars
like loops, structures, arrays that makes developing software much
easier then in a pure prolog. I use it for developing software for
my company and it is really nice.

Can be interfaced from Java, no problem.

ECLiPSe provides bindings to C/C++, Java and TclTk. Through RPC mechanism
any language could be used.

1. SICStus Prolog. Very solid. I am using SICStus for commercial
development. Java interface through PrologBeans package.
PrologBeans that are in SICStus are very low-level and could be easily
implemented for ECLiPSe. Basically the interface are simple "evals".
If I am wrong (regarding SiCStus) I would be grateful for any comments :).

Best regards
