Re: compressing similar files



Oh my god... NOBODY on a fucking COMPRESSION NEWSGROUP (supposedly
frequented by Ph.Ds) gave the right advice for a simple and OBVIOUS
task, except Jim Leonard. WOW. Next person who calls me a troll/newb
will be force-fed his own testicles.

To the OP: Use WinRAR or 7-Zip and check "Solid Archive" which
basically treats all the files as one and thus you get a high ratio if
the files are very similar 'cuz only the data of the keyfile + the
differing data of the following data will be stored in the archive.

The only downside to this is if the archive gets damaged, ALL files
inside will be unretrievable. But yo, this ain't 1980-1995 anymore,
and if you somehow manage to corrupt your archive, you're a dork, a
dip***, dirt-poor or all three.
