And I'd trust Willem to maintain it!
Which is fine, but my point is that in the status quo, nobody is
maintaining it. No updates since 1999 is kind of lame. I think the old
FAQ system is not working, and is redundant given current techology.
I'll propose an alternative: I could host the comp.compression FAQ on a
wiki on dogma.net, and limit the editors to a group of carefully vetted
maintainers - using whatever process everyone likes.
This enables the collaborative process, breaks the gridlock we get from
the single maintainer, and should allay everyone's fear of random bad
edits.
