PyramidWorkshop is an image-compression System based upon the
scientific work of John Robinson (inventor of BTPC) about
image-compression with adaptive linear predictors and is in average
more efficient than PNG/JPEG2000.
PNG and JPEG2000 are quite some different beasts. PNG is targetted
at lossless compression, JPEG2000 is (mainly) lossy. So what are
you claiming? Image quality is better? Or compression rate? If so,
have you made any measurements? If so, where would I find them?
