Re: OT: can someone check this server?...

I am attempting to run a server, but since I am inside my network, at
present I am unable to test if it is accessible from the outside (trying to
access my public ip, it seems I just get the "inside" portion of my router,
which isn't that useful).

hostname: cr88192.dyndns.org
to test thus far:
http, hopefully should be something (eg: the apache test page);
ftp, just need to check if working;
ssh, username: tempuser, password: tempuser.

I guess possible:
I can be emailed with any results (note: may need to alter reply email
addr);
a text file can be left in the user's home directory, leaving any useful
comments or such.

if one has success with all these, maybe they can leave a response here (if
someone is successful, that is good enough, I don't need that much more...).

I was *not* able to access the http or ftp at cr88192.dyndns.org

Here is what I get with ftp command on winxp

C:\>ftp cr88192.dyndns.org
Connected to cr88192.dyndns.org.
Connection closed by remote host.
C:\>

It does says 'connected', I dont know what it means.

I tried pinging the server, it translated to IP 202.131.179.211, but no
ping replies (it could be a firewall too).

ps. For a simple website, I would rather recommend a free service like
www.geocities.com
