Windows x64 is a 64bit os, and has 64bit drivers... :)
me not totally sure why one can't run 32 bit drivers in a 32 bit address
space, eg:

There is no way for a 64bit application to load a 32bit DLL (AFAIK this
was an intentional decision to avoid speed and compatibility issues).
Drivers run in kernel space, which is 64bit within Win x64, and as such
drivers need to be 64bit. Annoying, but really there is no other choice.
I myself run Win x64 with great success. The only problems I have
encountered are due to the dual core processor conflicting with badly
written computer games.
Re: Love the idea but need a little help ... You're doing better than I am with the HP x64 driver.... It won't even install... there are few drivers for consumer-level hardware items. ... My first problems is of course NOT ONE company supports wireless adapters.... (microsoft.public.mac.office)

Re: Vue 5 Infinite, Finally!!! ... and I think LW and PS would be OK as would most applications - x64 has something called WOW (Window on Windows I believe) that emulates 32 bit windows with no speed penalty - so I have read anyway. ... I need to get my soundcard, printer, scanner, tablet and whatever else to work under x64 which means 64 bit drivers.... Vue will have to be another day - but the output looks amazing - I almost daren't play with the demo in case the credit card ends up getting used! ... (comp.graphics.apps.lightwave)
