All this "freaky" speaking about who's not a scientist is just silly.
Ideas and inventions can generate either by academic studies and empiric
experimentation.
Do not forget old science was *all* done emipircally, as there were'nt
computers nor proper mathematic "tools".
Was Sir Newton a loon then, cos he studied nature empirically?
Was Leonardo another loon, who thought about "tanks", flying machines and
other looney things... while he didn't even studied a single formula...but
just observing the flight of a bird ?
Think twice, and keep history in mind...you might become more tolerant at
least.
