Wikipedia confusion in lcc entry

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_C_compiler

I don't recall ever stumbling over an expansion of 'lcc' before - but
Wikipedia's new entry devoted to it mentions both 'little C compiler'
and 'local C compiler', and neither seems likely. Does anyone know if
'lcc' stands for a longer phrase, and if so what it really is?
