just bought a new laptop from dell M6400 covet wit with fx3700 1gb.
i also considered the w700.
because we bougt more computers at once dell gave massive discount.
with almost the same specs as the you describe.
I wanted to use xp 64 bit, but mcafee security didnt accept that.
so went to vista64 bit and everything works fine ....EXEPT SOLIDWORKS 2009
x64.
my var couldnt solve the problem, and the problem is under investigation for
3 days now in the US.
I am afraid to have to go back to XP 32 bit.

But anyway the laptop from dell has a keyboard that feels a bit crappy.
the dvd player makes a lot of noise .
So if i had the choise again , i would go for the lenovo W700.

Well my old trusty Alienware laptop has just bitten the dust -
graphics card has died! so I'm looking for a replacement and the spec
of this looks tasty and a snip at £2300.00

Has anyone got one and is using with SWX? Read spec below......
