I'm not clear on the subject of scale. Let's say I create a drawing inset the layer to the one you want the viewport on
model space, a floor plan and a couple of sections for a commercial
building, all drawn at full scale, that it I just start drawing when ACAD
2004 opens up. Then I go to the one of the Layout pages and create a few
viewports. I want to show the floor plan at 1/4"=1'-0" and the detailed
sections at say 3/4"=1'-0".
How do I handle this? I don't seem to understand how SCALE works.
Open layout tab.
Right click on layout tab
Left click modify
Select Printer/plotter
DWF6 ePlot.Pc3
Select Paper size and Drawing orientation
Plot scale 1:1
Select OK
Left click on border of viewport
use the handles to adjust the size
double click inside the view port to go to model space
zoom extents
center the image you want in the viewport with the pan icon
exit the pan command
set the plotting scale in the drop down tab in the viewport command tab
readjust the image location with the pan icon
exit the pan command
double click outside the viewport to return to paper space
select the border of the viewport
right click
select display locked yes to lock the scale setting and image location in
the viewport.
you can resize or relocate the view port without unlocking the display
additional view ports are modified in the same manner. Once you have played
with this a bit I am sure you will have other questions related to such
things as dimensioning. Inserting or xrefing the title block and or parts of
the drawing.
