Re: dimscale in viewports

You don't need a newer version to do what I think you want, and I work this
way all the time.

I strongly suggest that you always work at 1:1 in model space, and then
create floating viewports in paperspace, each scaled appropriately for the
individual drawing. Using the layer filtering capability of floating ports,
you can draw your details right on top of your larger scale drawings, as
long as you use different layers. Think about the coordination advantages to
having them in the same place.

Anticipating your next question, "How do I got my dimensions the right size
in viewports with different scale factors?", you use dimension styles scale
to read right at individual scales and use the one appropriate for your
detail. In newer versions you can do your dimensions in paperspace, and they
can be associative. This is an alternate approach that I have never used
myself.

Greetings

I got some good help here yesterday and thought I'd give it another
try. I'm doing architectural work lately and I end up with detail
sheets with details in many different scales. I basically xclip the
xref's and redimension per viewport (dims done in model). I'm running
v2000 and wondering if any of the newer versions allow for different
dimscales for each viewport. The idea being I could dim everything in
model space at the same size and change the dimscale per viewport. This
could save me alot of time and energy and just maybe the boss will
actually make a dollar someday. Any input that mightup productivity and
accuracy would help greatly.

Thanks!
