Writing a Layer Standard into 2006

I am adopting our company layer standard into the AutoCad Layer
Standards Manager. We have around 1000 standard layers which I have
already typed out in .txt format. My question is; can I import that
into the Standards Manager without having to re-type all the layer
names and descriptions out?
Is there a file I can edit, or is it possible to do this on the command
line, where I can script the input?
All help greatly appreciated.
