Hi,
I'm considering buying a laptop. How can I know If the specs I am
considering will be compatible with 64-bit operating systems and
softwares ( like Ubuntu 10 or 64-bit Matlab). Are these specs revealing
enough -
1. Intel Core processor Duo T2400 (2MB Cache/1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
AFAIK, the current Core Duos (Yonah) are still 32 bit. 64 bit is for the
next microarchitecture, the one with 4 issue slots (Merom).
2. 1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
3. 100 GB SATA Hard Drive
Get a Turion x2 if you want 64 bit capability now.
