Measuring the machine takeover

I don't know, if I count the number of smart machines I own (aka have a CPU
in them), I think it's over 100. Which puts us in that 99% machine society
already. :)
The way I propose of measuring the progress of the machine takeover
is to *weigh* the world's actuators, sensors, and processors, etc -
and see what proportion of them are engineered.
The main difficulties with this are that sometimes deciding whether
something is engineered, or has been produced without intelligent
design is non-trivial - and that calculating the total weights is
not simple either.
Anyway, by this type of metric, the takeover is still in its
early stages.
