That doesn't seem to be consistent with what you have
written in the past. There's nothing hard to understand
about memory, so if that's all there is to it, why are
you having such a hard time understanding consciousness?

Well clearly it is not something you have thought about with
your nothing buts.

I've not thought about the importance of memory in AI?
You have got to be kidding.

With respect to access "consciousness" was the context.

I'm trying to get more people to understand that machines
which act like humans are in fact conscious machines.

We don't have machines that act like humans so Who cares
at this stage? What people do you think manage to read
all your posts let alone change their views as a result?
I sometimes write posts to clarify my own understanding
and if someone helps in that respect fine but I never
write them with the purpose of changing other people's
views, I really don't care, that is their issue.

If people don't understand this basic philosophy of AI
stuff, they don't understand AI, and that frustrates the
hell out of me because I really want to see AI solved
before I die.

:)

I don't care myself. I do things for fun and getting
frustrated is not fun for me. I am sure they can manage
without you Curt. The graveyards are full of people
who thought the world couldn't do without their input.
