Re: Proposal: Unification of Artificial Intelligence factions in the practical realm

The fuzzy idea is that fuzzy systems may be able to be used in place of
neural networks, as a pattern-matching mechanism used on sensory
information, but I don't know much about fuzzy networks, their capabilities,
or their efficiency in large-scale, data intensive operations, such as
vision or speech recognition.

For the longest time, the AI world has separated into two factions:
the
discreet & the indiscreet. The discreet are those who believe in
symbolic
reasoning, knowledge representation, etc. The indiscreet are the
connectionists and fuzzyists--those who facilitate the need to make room
for
a small level of ambiguity.

Computers are discreet machines, while humans are more flexible, and
less discreet.

I just can't take a guy seriously who doesn't know the difference
between in/discreet and in/discrete.

But I did read your screed, and think you have a fuzzy idea or two that
are worth explicating. So, explicate!
