I found Jesus

It wasn't hard. In fact, I wasn't even looking for him -- he just sort of
showed up.I had not really noticed the noise of the lawn mower till it set
off my car alarm. I went out front to shut it off, not mad, mind you, but a
bit annoyed. By the time I got out there the lawn mower had stopped. I
turned off the car alarm, and looked around. There was a guy next door, not
my neighbor, raking up lawn clippings and putting them, dutifuly, in a can
marked "green waste". I walked up and asked "did you set off the alarm"? He
looked at me like Bambi must have looked at Godzilla's foot. Huh?
OK, he doesn't speak English. But, just from the look of him, I had a hunch.
"Que honda, mano", I asked. He brightened up right away. "Jesus Alfredo
Jimenez, a su servicio". "Miguel Raymundo Olea, para servirle". Ice broken,
we started to chat. I was a bit distracted, wondering if he was related to
the famous singer Jose Alfredo Jimenez, but we got past that. Do you know
this guy actually played short-stop for the Fresno Giants, and was batting
350 before he tore a ligament? He had "major leaguer" written all over him.
So if anyone is looking for Jesus, or trying to help someone else find
Jesus, or just wondering what Jesus is up to -- Jesus is living in
Sacramento, doing yard work, and quite happy with it, not bitter at all at
that lost shot at the majors.
