I think we can surmount all this silly conflict between behaviorism
and cognitivism by adopting a semantic convention where instead of
describing cognitive behavior in terms of images, representations,
etc. we just say cognitive beings behave "as if" there were images,
representations, etc. Both philosophies will remain pretty stupid
nonetheless but at least we can get the arguments out of the trivium
and into the quadrivium for a change.

Ah but - difficulties describing quantrivium may already be
a result of the adopted semantic conventions?
