That's too bad. It makes sense that Sony should stop making these
robots. They're not making a profit from them. The reason is simple,
IMO. The software is not intelligent enough.
All the general purpose robot makers (Honda, Sony, etc...) face a
similar problem. The public wants robots that can do chores around the
house, chores that require sophisticated intelligence. We're not there
yet. But it's coming. The good thing about all this is that we now
have good robot hardware technology.
