You really are clueless about what I'm doing aren't you? It strikes me as
odd that you would be want to make such strong statements about something
you don't understand.

Here's a flat version of the type of network I'm working with:

| | | | | |

OUT

The sorting nodes are the o. They receive a pulse from either of the two
nodes above them and then make a sorting decision to send each pulse on to
one of the two nodes below them. The signal going into the node is
separated into two signals, which are then merged together before it is fed
to the next level.
