Do you not believe that there is something outside your head causing the
experience happening inside your head?

I've always believed in both. That is, our ability to understand physical
reality is limited to what happens inside our head - and our entire
understanding of our reality is limited to what can happen inside our head.
My reality is a virtual reality created inside my head. But at the same
time, my experience of reality makes it fairly clear that I do have a head,
and that everything that happens inside my head to let me know about some
aspects of reality, are being caused by effects in the universe outside of
my head (or more accurately, by the interaction between the stuff inside my
head with the stuff outside my head).
