What are your favorite books on Genetic and Evolutionary Algorithms?

If you could state the year of publication and reason you like it,
it would be very helpful.

I am looking for fairly recent books that are "readable" :-) and
point out open research questions too.

* An Introduction to Genetic Algorithms - Melanie Mitchell (1998)

I think this book does an excellent job of introducing the topic and it also has a wealth of references.

* Introduction to Evolutionary Computing - A.E. Eiben & J.E. Smith (2003)

This covers a broader range of evolutionary computing topics than Mitchell's book.

* The Blind Watchmaker - Richard Dawkins (1986)

Not specifically about evolutionary computing - though it does mention a couple of Dawkin's own computer programs. It's principally about biological evolution. Worthwhile as background reading.
