CALL FOR PAPERS
EvoFIN 2008
Second European Workshop on Evolutionary Computation in Finance and
Economics
incorporated in Evo* 2008, Naples, Italy, 26-28 March 2008
http://www.evostar.org
EvoFIN 2008 focuses on the use of EC, related natural computing
techniques, and agent-based modelling, in computational finance and
economics. High quality paper submissions which demonstrate novelty in
terms of methodology, application or both, are strongly encouraged.
Applications of interest include (but are not limited to) :
- forecasting financial time series
- portfolio management
- options pricing
- financial risk and risk management
- trading strategies
- asset pricing, trading volume, volatility
- financial engineering
- artificial stock markets
- agent-based models of financial markets
- behavioural finance
Methodologies of interest include:
- genetic programming
- genetic algorithms
- evolutionary strategies
- particle swarm
- swarm intelligence
- artificial immune systems
- neural networks
- hybrid systems
- multi-agent systems
EvoFIN is the premier European event specifically dedicated to the
application of EC (and related natural computing methodologies) to
finance and economics. It gives researchers in those fields, as well
as people from industry, an opportunity to present their latest
research and to discuss current developments and applications. EvoFIN
2008 is part of Evo* 2008, a joint event which will incorporate EuroGP
2008, EvoWorkshops 2008, EvoCOP 2008, and EvoBio 2008. All papers
accepted for EvoFIN 2008 will be published in the Springer LNCS Series
(“Applications of Evolutionary Computation”). The book will be
available at the workshop.
Submission: High quality papers are sought on the topics related to
the focus of the workshop, ranging from theoretical work to innovative
applications. Submitted papers must be a maximum of TEN A4 pages long
and should be submitted in PDF format. As the review process is double-
blind, all submissions should be anonymised. The papers must conform
to Springer's LNCS format (instructions downloadable from
http://www.springeronline.com/sgw/cda/frontpage/0,11855,5-164-2-72376-0,00.html)
and be submitted using the online submission service (available soon)
no later than November 1, 2008. The papers will be peer reviewed by at
least two members of the program committee. Authors will be notified
via email on the results of the review by December 15, 2007. The
authors of accepted papers will have to improve their paper on the
basis of the reviewers' comments and will be asked to send a camera
ready version of their manuscripts, along with text sources and
pictures, by January 8, 2008.
