At Strathclyde Univesity in Glasgow, Scotland, we have been working on
applications of fuzzy modelling for control and real-time modelling in the
process industries. We have been working mainly with relational models and
have developed our own identification techniques and model inversion
routines. A few years ago, some of us decided to form a company to exploit
these techniques. The technical side was a great success - we produced a
suite of software and won several innovation awards, but the commercial side
was a bit of a disaster and we failed to generate sufficient business.
After a few years of wondering what to do with the software, I've decided to
release it free for anyone to use. I had already announced this on the
newsgroup and had several requests for the release of the source code. I've
now released this too, under the terms of the GNU GPL license.
You can pick up the software, and view a list of relevant publications at:
http://www.strath.ac.uk/Departments/ChemEng/staff_pages/clgs03/toppage12.htm
The software is fully documented (pdf files included in the zip download).
I'm afraid I can't offer free support for either the software or the source
code. I am, however, willing to talk to anyone who can offer the prospect of
funding to allow us to get this work started again!
