Raw Ir on the PalmOne Tungsten E2

I am trying to port a program I wrote for the Palm m130 to the PalmOne
Tungsten E2. The program uses raw infrared via Srm... calls (e.g.,
SrmOpen, SrmControl). The program appears to run okay on the E2, but
nothing comes out of the Ir port.
I am aware that raw Ir cannot be used on any Palm device that has an
OMAP processor, but the E2 has an Intel ARM processor. Also, I have
successfully run this program on other (non-OMAP) Palm devices.
My program is written in "CodeWarrior for Palm OS 8.0".
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get the E2 to work with raw
Ir?
Thanks,
James.
