Is CFHTTP usable?

During my research I've found some CFHTTP-Functions within the Core Foundation which could replace my need for using CURL but I'm not able to use these inside my MacOS project. The header files are not available in the standard include paths. If I include the apple header files I get problems and can't compile.
Is there a way to use CFHTTP within my SharedLibrary project?
