Re: ALIAS COUNT

John,

Sorry, I should have worded my question more clearly. I ran the listcat (LISTC ENT(MY.USERCAT) ALL and I checked the ASSOCIATIONS. I saw all the aliases associated with it. What I am looking for is the amount or alias count something like what is produced when I do a LISTC CAT(MY.USERCAT) ALL. At the end of the report it gives a TOTAl. I hope I am able to convey my question in a more clearer manner.

Subject: ALIAS COUNT

Good Day Gentle Readers,

Is there a quick way of getting a count of the number of
ALIAS that is in a USER CATALOG? I tried the IDCAMS PRINT
option but it is not what I am looking for.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

LISTC ENT(user.catalog) ALL

Then count the number of ALIAS entries under ASSOCIATION.

This is not necessarily the number of High Level qualifiers that are in
the catalog. There could be some "old" entries whose alias pointer has
been deleted.
