Re: DFDSS versus FDR

We perform Full Volume Backups Weekly on selective DASD volumes using both
FDR and DFDSS. We have also restored (and renamed) a VSAM file (NON-Multi
volume) from the backup tape using both products.

I believe that you can restore, you just can't perform a rename while
doing it.


As I read it, and my experience, is that you cannot restore any type of
VSAM dataset from a full volume backup.
