I decided to take a bit of action. Here is the email I sent to Mr.
Palmisano:

For years the mainframe was THE machine to have because it worked. Lots
of effort went into that, one of the things being that from release to
release the quality (RAS) had to improve for hardware as well as
software.
Now IBM has decided to dump a system that was solid - the 3270 based
IBMLink to go to a web based system that just can't seem to run for any
length of time without crashing.
It has been down all day today. It is IBM's preferred method of problem
reporting, but it is unstable.
I thought you might want to know that this is becoming a bone of
contention among SHARE members.
