Re: Suggestions for New Laptop.

17" screen AND 200gb drive...? Now that's a machine! Next time I upgrade I
will definitely look into the HP. Once I move on from my current employer,
I will take a look at that DV9500t you mentioned.

I too upgraded my latest Dell (two 100gb HD's, memory, wireless NIC)
although I only had to replace one item under warranty. (knock on wood).
About the only trouble I ever had with Dell was when I was in the process of
ordering my desktop. I became so frustrated I wanted to reach through the
phone, all the way to India, and strangle the person on the other end of the
line.

About the only real problems I ever had was with the HD's. I keep all of my
machines on 24x7 and laptop HD's are not designed for that kind of use. So,
every two years I need to replace one of the drives. While the original 8gb
IBM SCSI drive that was in my old Dell A610, purchased in 94, is still going
strong!

Hi Garry,
How's everything? I also liked Dell before I bought my HP, yes Dell has the
at home service they send a tech to fix what's broken and something always
seems to break. I still have my first Dell laptop and it still works but
just about every component was changed at some point during the 4 year
warrantee. So for the same money you can get a lot more laptop at HP
200+gig hard drive, 17" high gloss screen, Core 2 Duo processor, I bought
the dv8000 in 2006 and love it, never any problems knock wood, the new
dv9500t looks awesome, I bet you could run z/OS 1.8 on it lol.
