-923/-924 are connection failures - check for plan names, link DSNHLI
version. Does RC-Update use a different plan name for updates than selects?
The CA support would probably have a check list.

We are converting our system to a new box and operating system. We are
going to a Z9 with Z/OS 1.7 from an older box with Z/OS 1.4. When we bring
up DB2 on the new operating system we are able to select from tables but
we are not able update, delete or insert into any table. In trying from
CA's RC/Update I get a
DSNT408I SQLCODE= -924 SQLSTATE = 58006, system error from ?
then next screen I get
DSNT408I SQLCODE= -923, Error: Connection not established DB2, reason,

on the system log I get

If I try to do a display threads I get user not authorized though I sysadm
authority..
After talking to the DB2 and RACF list servers I added the DSNR facility
class on our V1.7 system which in the long run made no difference. I know
this because the first one I inserted was bad and we could not connect at
all but once i got the ** in we were back to where we started with no
updates allowed.
Has anyone else run into this problem.
