Tommy,
I suggest you put in a write statement before the WHEN clauses to write out
the value in
&UNIT. I suspect you will find that the second dataset does not have a
value that matches
your &VALID_UNIT filter list.
The DFSMSdfp Storage Administration Reference indicates that VOL=REF=*.OUT1
will
cause the dataclas ACS routine to be invoked and the storage class value to
be copied
from the refer back dataset.
I tend to use UNIT values to identify things I do not want in SMS like tape
datasets, etc. I
then use the dataset name to make decisions about placement in SMS. I
ignore refer backs
on SMS managed datasets and really don't know what you will get in the
&UNIT variable.
