Re: SMPE Help with a message

John, I don't know how that got in there. I'm not the best at SMPE but I never would do a bypass on error holds. This was an apply check...how lucky!

Howard, why would you want to bypass this ERROR HOLD? The one
you listed shouldn't prevent the installation of any PTFs. (Were
you installing z/OS using CBPDO, it would prevent the
installation of HDZ11G0 without either a resolver or a bypass,
but that's different.)

There are ERROR HOLDs for PTFs in error (PEs) and for HIPER
APARs. The former name the held PTF; the latter name the FMID.
The one in your original post is a HIPER HOLD against the DFSMS
FMID, HDZ11G0. If you install z/OS and other products using
ServerPac or SystemPac, the only purpose of these HIPER holds is
to allow you to find all the outstanding unresolved HIPERs on
your system using REPORT ERRSYSMODS. (And if you're installing
z/OS using CBPDO...why?)

Mark, thanks a lot. How would this be bypassed in an apply run?

the function HDZ11G0 has a new HIPER apar
